Dr Tanzil Rahman MLA selected for national Advanced Political Leadership program
Member for Fong Lim, Dr Tanzil Rahman MLA has been accepted into the prestigious McKinnon Institute’s Advanced Political Leadership program – a non-partisan initiative designed to support and strengthen leadership by parliamentarians across Australia.
The program brings together members from federal, state, and territory levels, offering a unique space for cross-party learning, collaboration, and dialogue. It is particularly aimed at preparing participants for future roles as Ministers.
Dr Rahman said the McKinnon scholarship will help build on his leadership and policy-making skills, which he plans to apply for the benefit of the Northern Territory.
“I’m proud to be invited to join this important program. It’s a chance to learn from experienced leaders and peers from across the political spectrum,” Dr Rahman said.
“I look forward to using what I gain through this experience to improve how we serve the people of the Northern Territory.”
The Advanced Political Leadership Program is delivered by the McKinnon Institute and is regarded as a vital step for parliamentarians preparing to take on senior leadership roles. The 2025 program will be led by Professor Rod Glover, Professor Anne Tiernan, and the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO, and runs for 9-days between 12 June and 20 September 2025.
