The final stage of development in Bayview as per the original masterplan (‘The Boulevard’ aka Stage 3) proposed to create a high-value, missed-use inner-suburban expansion of approximately 1100 dwellings and improve traffic management in the Bayview precinct.  This development was terminated in 2017 by the then Government.  Last year, the current government approved a separate 18-lot subdivision on O’Ferrall Road, which if completed, will render the original Stage 3 plans technically impossible to build.

To the Speaker and the Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory.

This petition as signed below calls the attention of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly to:

Recognise the importance of completing development in Bayview in alignment with the objectives of the original masterplan, to create public harbour-front spaces, additional housing, and improve transport links via a third Tiger Brennan Drive access near Benison Road, Winnellie.

The Petitioners therefore ask that the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly:

Commit to revisiting development plans for Bayview in alignment with the objectives of the original masterplan.

Upon presentation to the Assembly, this Petition will become a public document.
