The Narrows Shiers Street Redevelopment

In 2023, the Northern Territory Government engaged NTEX Civil Construction and Demolition to undertake the demolition of the outdated public housing complex at Shiers Street, The Narrows. This initiative aimed to pave the way for future redevelopment of the site.

To the Speaker and the Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory.

This petition as signed below calls the attention of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly to:

Recognise the need for affordable, keyworker, social and/or retirement housing in the Northern Territory, and a desire to stimulate development in The Narrows, Winnellie Shopping Centre, and adjacent areas.

The Petitioners therefore ask that the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly:

Commit to developing affordable, keyworker, social and/or retirement housing at Shiers Street, The Narrows.

Upon presentation to the Assembly, this Petition will become a public document.
